It was a smooth flight last Saturday, April 29th! At 9:45 in Niergnies (235km) our pigeons were unloaded, 110 of us on a participant field of 4.187 pigeons from Region C. On the way the pigeons were made with a happy sunshine, some clouds and southern winds, but there was hardly any wind.
It was therefore expected that speeds of around 90 should be reached, and that turned out to be quite correct. At 12:24 the first bird pushed his chip on the antenna. Immediately thereafter the second pigeon and within 10 minutes we watch over 50 pigeons and within half an hour we have more than 90/110 pigeons at home. In the last few weeks we had most hens in the front, but today it was also a lot of cocks from Niergnies. That gives confidence now the temperatures are rising.
In the club we fly to 667 pigeons: 8-9-11-20-21 (110/52). In Region C against 4.187 pigeons we win: 19-34-38-78-86-etc. 58 out of 110 pigeons win prize. 26 pigeons win prize 1:10. A result we are content with considering the not favorable wind.
The 1st prize against 4.187 birds in our Region was raced by club- en teammember Christian v.d. Wetering and this is an original Hooymans bird (grandchild Jonge Bliksem x Dirkje).
Our first arrival was the NL16-1663495. Bred from “Blue Baron” a topracer with 7x 1st. In the winter of 2015 we get this cock from Peter Colijn (Colijn & Fox) The mother to the first bird is bred from “Harry x Alexia”.
Our second bird was also a cock NL15-1849492, direct from “Harry” paired to daughter “666 x Naomi”.
Our 3rd bird NL14-1209121 is a very nice hen and she won this year so far: 38e Niergnies – 4.187 d. 36e Asse Zellik – 2.024 d. 234e Lessines – 4.022 d. Her father is “Cavendish” (1e Nationaal Asduif Vitesse NPO in 2009) Her mother is a daughter to “Harry x Jantine”.
