Saturday, August 4, we closed the extreme middle distance season with an NPO race from Chateaudun. Our department 7 had put in a total of 1,974 pigeons, all strictly selected athletes who are daring.
We had basketed 97 racing pigeons, 52 cocks and 45 hens to be precise. With the warm weather and the northwest wind it became another cracker for our pigeons to cover 500 kilometers.
Mister Teletext Hans Dekkers from Hedikhuizen (also clubmate since this season) had traveled to Kerkdriel to see the arrivals of our pigeons with own eyes.
By 2:45 pm the first pigeon arrived and the results briefly followed each other. The pigeons showed that they certainly did not find the distance in combination with the heat too heavy. Our first pigeon, NL16-1662986, turned out to be a very early one. At his speed of 1119 meters per minute nobody seemed to be able to tip. The 986 wins the 1st NPO Chateaudun.
After processing the clocks the following pigeons also appeared to fly in the head, end result: 1-8-9-10-13 NPO!
Now to the pigeons who performed it Saturday.
1st NPO CHATEAUDUN:
First, the NL16-1662986 was a rather large scratcher, perfect for construction with a nice long wing. Last year he won 10 middle prizes with twice 1:20 in the one day long distance, but given his descent he got a second chance. This year he makes it all the true by winning beautiful prizes on the last 5 long distance races:
1st NPO Chateaudun II against 1,974 pigeons
30th NPO Gien against 4.607 pigeons
38th National Chateaudun I against 12,511 pigeons
48th National Chateauroux against 12,313 pigeons
311st NPO NU Bourges against 16.658 pigeons
His father is “Cees” himself a super racer in the middle distance with twice teletext and the litter of “Harry” His mother is directly from Harrie Kennes and bred the 1st National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance NPO in 2015.
He was basketted on 7 old pens but dropped a pen in the basket. His yearling brother was our third pigeon and won the 9th NPO Chateaudun, so 2 pigeons out of 1 pair in the top10 NPO!
The 8th NPO Chateaudun … was won by a checkered yearling cock NL17-1410976. His father is a son of “Harry x Alexia”, which we get back from the deceased fancier Bernd Kröger. His mother is “Leontine” a top hen with 3 times teletext as a yearling with Leon Dautzenberg.
The 9th NPO Chateaudun …
was won by the yearling cock NL17-1410749. As mentioned, a full brother of the 1st NPO Chateaudun! Earlier, he was already well in the lead, on a spicy Bourges, and on 4 long distance races he flies 4 beautiful prizes, so a promise for 2019!
There was nothing else for us than to eat the chocolate balls again, a delicious breakfast on the Monday morning 😉
