On April 15, on three Saturdays, the team flies the first sprint race. In our program for the old birds are 6 short distance, six middle distance and 5 heavy middle distance races. For the long distance pigeons we intend to basket to three ZLU flights. The youngsters have a program with eight flights, which are, unfortunately, only two flights above 300km.

Currently, the cocks and hens for the middle distance (and short distance, middle distance) are separated two weeks. Both the 50 widowers (the hens stay home) and the more than 50 widows (whose stay home the cocks) have raised youngsters. At present, the 25 long distance couples are still with small youngsters. The long distance birds will be separated in 15 days.
Changes A few things we will change this season. Unlike previous years, we want to play the long distance birds at the widowhood system, untill the first Long Distance / ZLU race. After this long distance race, we will pair them, so the 2nd long distance race we play them on “eggs” and the 3rd race at “youngsters”. A change also is that we will train the widowers twice per day. We think this certainly benefited in the beginning of the season the basic condition. Currently the old birds have been training very well and are an hour high in the air. Recently, the birds were checked by the vet, but nothing was found, so the first trainings are already there. If the weather is good, we want to utilize the drilling of 8 April (Duffel or more) to give the team an additional learning time before the season starts on April 15. In short, again plenty of activity for Mario and Evert to get all the teams in the time regime.

Youngsters Since December we are already working to grow the promises of the future. Currently we have 200 early youngsters, which we want to participate in the youngsters program. They are darkened. Furthermore, we want to grow a great team for the late races. For One Loft Races (South Africa and Algarve) we are busy to breed hopefully a few new “Hali’s”.
Top hen in the breeding loft Besides earlier gains we have decided to move the top hen NL15-1839408 “Dreameye Harry” (full sister New Harry) who was on the loft at Christian, do not play her more in 2017, but put into the breeding loft in Kerkdriel. In view of the raptors is the risk too great to play such a valuable hen. She has been playing the 1st of 11.337 pigeons, and her palmares of seven 1: 100 for a yearling is extraordinary. She is a descendant of “Beauty Harry” x “Stareye” (breeding together then C vd Wetering and Team GPS). Besides “New Harry” has “Dreameye Harry” also “Max” as a brother.
