Shortened flight from the Belgian coast

We had basketed 131 pigeons for flight from Peronne (256km). Because the weather last Saturday 2 June was not radiant (cloudy, in itself no problem for pigeons) was postponed to the Sunday, June 3. Because there was a market in Peronne, 90 kms were driven back to the Belgian coast, the place Rekkem. For us barely 180km and then with a southwest wind was released at 10:00 AM. As can be understood, the expectation was a spot at the top500 in Section 7 against more than 10,000 pigeons.

Around 12:00 we expected the pigeons, when they made 1500mpm. Eventually it was 12:06 for the first one and fifteen minutes later more than 100 of 131 pigeons had already arrived. They came off fantastically well, that made our day well.

As we thought we started a minute or 10 late for the 1st in the department. With a 328th place in the department it was even better than we had expected, again a windfall. In the department we had 50 of our 131 pigeons in the points.
In the club we start with 5-14-15-16 against 477 pigeons.
In the region we start with the 52nd place against 2,535 pigeons and packs 16 pigeons 1:10 and 50 prizes total.

Quickly forgotten this week and hopefully a nice weekend of 9 June on which a one day long distance and middle distance race will be on the program.

Our first pigeon was a yearling widower NL17-1410828.
He has been with our first pigeons several times.
He takes his 5th prize on 8 flights.
His father comes via Chr. v.d. Wetering and comes from a half-brother “Blue Brave” x “New Stareye”.
His mother is a daughter “Harry” x “Last One” (Jan & Rik Hermans).
The 1st in the club with team member Chr. v.d. Wetering also comes from the line-pairing of “Blue Brave” x “Harry”.

Our second pigeon is also a yearling widower, as is the third pigeon.
The second comes from “De 400” (1st National Ace pigeon Middle distance H. Kennes) x “Daughter Harry” (Harry x daughter Hilde)
The third comes from “Harry Junior” (Harry x Stareye) x “Daughter Blue Brave”.
