“Baron Harry” wins 1st NPO Bourges !!

Last Saturday, in hot circumstances and westly winds, the NPO race from Bourges was flown for Provinces 7 – 8 – 9.
In the total Noordelijke Unie concours, 18.312 birds are basketed.

In our department 7, in total 4.814 birds participated. Including 90 birds from us. At 7.00 PM our birds were released.
Based on the speeds in Belgium (Chateauroux), our expectations were that the first birds must race at a speed between 1250 and 1300 mpm. That meant we need to have pigeons at home between 14:00 and 14:30 h. at our 563 kilometers distance.

At 14.22 from the south east, a chequer cock came on and raced into the loft.
It was our 495/16, a very good cock for us this year.
It tooks 9 minutes before the 2nd bird came home, so we expected our first one was a early one.
This seems to be correct because no one in Afdeling 7 could reach our speed of 1271 mpm.

So we could say: “Baron Harry” wins the 1e NPO Bourges !

In total North Union (Noordelijke Unie N.U.) against 14.322 birds, Baron Harry became 2nd.

In the NPO result against 4.814 birds we scored:  1-14-24-29-40-42-62-64-81 and 44 prizecards from 90 birds.

The winner is re-named to “Baron Harry”.
We did mention this 495 several times earlier this season.
As young bird he was basketed once, to Oudenaarde (160km), but he didn’t came home.
After 2 months, he came home. Because of his looks, we gave him a place on our racing loft.

This season, he immediate shows his quality by winning some nice top10 results in our strong club.
At the very heavy Melun middle distance race (400km) he won the 11th against 3.447 birds and from Niergnies (230km) he won 19th against 4.187 birds. The latest weeks, the form of Baron Harry seems to be a bit less but last week from Asse Zellik he was there again.
Now we basketed him for a LD One Day Long Distance race for the first time…and he won!

The father of “Baron Harry” is the superracer “Blue Baron”, we got him in winter of 2015 from Comb. Peter Colijn & Fox. This “Blue Baron” did race very well at short and middle distance races and won 7 times 1st and many pricecards in the best 1%.
The mother of “Baron Harry” is “Incredible Lady”, an awesome hen bred from brother x sister: “Harry x Alexia”.

Our second bird was also a very early one, 14th NPO Bourges and 21nd N.U. against 8.733 birds. This bird was our “Harry Holland”, NL15-1849007, the super racer of season 2016 with 2 times top10 NPO. This season he didn’t show his topform, but we hope he surprises us the coming 2 LD races. His father is “Harry” and his mother is “Halfsister Henkie” (Gebr Scheele x Henk Melis) .

Our 3rd bird is “Jean”, NL15-1849113. A chequer cock. Last year as yearling he won 12th NPO Blois. Now he wins 24th NPO Bourges.
His father is a full brother to “Beauty Harry”. His mother is superbreedinghen “Jeanette” (sister Harry).
