Youngbirds won 17-21-22-27 Provincial Lessines against 10.082 birds !

Last Saturday there was only a youngbirds race for us on the schedule. Again from Lessines, for us 160 kilometers.
The ZLU flight Narbonne was also abandoned. We did not participate in this flight, but other fanciers performed great again with Hooyman’s lines. For example, Batenburg vd Merwe wins the 2nd International Narbonne ZLU Yearlings with a “Hilde” grandchild and  Jo & Florian Hendriks wins the 4th International Narbonne ZLU Yearlings with a grandchild “Harry” !!

We basketed 151 youngbirds for Lessines, some injured at home. The forecasts for the weekend were not all too good but eventually it turned out to be quite easy and the pigeons were released at 11:00. There were some showers on the airline, especially in the Netherlands but helped by a strong southwest wind, the youngsters would not have a heavy race. Based on reports from other departments, we expected the birds to get 1800mpm, which would mean we had to have pigeons at 12:30. At 12:25  four pigeons arrived already and after some time we could clock them at 12:26. Speed: 1852 meters per minute or 110km / h !! Shortly after the first birds, the other pigeons began to fall and within a quarter of time we watched 36 pigeons flying all in the prices.

In our club we won 6-7-8-10 against 432 birds.

Based on the wind, a very good result.

Our first youngbird was a long distance bird. Father is a son of “Favoriet” x “Daughter Diamantje” from Cor de Heijde.
“Favoriet” is a grandson to “Dirkje”.
Mother is a co-bred with Batenburg – vd Merwe, bred from “Harry x Miss Narbonne”.

Our second bird is bred from “Tweetjes” from Harrie Kennes (father 1st Nat Acebird Middle Distance) paired to “078 Sister Harry”.

Our 3rd bird is bred from “999 Brother Harry” paired to daughter “Pair 1” of Mevr. Snellen & Zoon.

Our fourth bird, 27th against 10.082 birds, is a brother / sister to “13/432 Vici” (Victor Massart) and Vici did win 2 times first price combine with headwinds, and she bred already 3 times top10 NPO Teletext winners.
A full brother of our 4th bird won at C vd Wetering at the same race the 11th Afd.7 against 10.082 birds!
