The National flight was flown away under beautiful weather conditions on 14 September. A tough assignment for the young pigeons because a good number of kilometers of the 480 kilometers distant flight must be flown over ‘the channel’ where there is always difficult wind. Team Hooymans UK wins “Lilly Bear” with the win. Her pedigree below.
“Lilly Bear” is the first young born of this pair. Both parents are late youngsters from 2018 and, due to their outward class and good descent, ended up directly in the breeding loft in Kerkdriel. The first child born out of it, “Lilly Bear” was already a first class pigeon and was sent to John from Team Hooymans UK to prove herself there … and she does! A week ago (7 September), Ace Lofts (UK) also won 1st National with the youngsters from Coutances, which is more than 300 kilometers for them. This heavy race with headwind was won by “National Ace” (grandson “New Harry”), but Ace Lofts also won the 2nd National with a pigeon bred from our lines. See the pedigrees and photos below.
In the same weekend, Team Hooymans UK won the sector flight from Portland (320km). 1st Section, 1st Open North West Grand National Portland, also with the strong headwind. The total result was: 1-7-8-9-14-15.
Below the results and the pedigrees of the first 4 pigeons.
